Mirror of Objectivity

As I’ve been winding down 2011 and preparing for 2012, I have spent a lot of time looking at the object in the mirror, me. It is so easy to distort the image to be what we think it should be, but the mirror never lies.

Three things to keep in mind about reflecting on the image you see:

1) Honesty factor – if you can be real with yourself, there is a good chance you are not real with others. We know what happens to fake people? (Or do we?)

2) Reflection shock – how tough can reality be on young leaders? It is only a shock when a leader allows the current reality to dim the vision from the dream one may be pursuing.

3) Change image – so one realizes the true image is different from the perceived image. What is the first step to change the image?

The next time you stand in front of the mirror, what is it going to say about you? Your goals? Your values? You life?
